Modern high voltage dielectric loss testers typically adopt an integrated structure, combining the dielectric loss test bridge, frequency converter, step-up transformer, and standard capacitor into one unit. Some models feature a separate handheld terminal and test host design, connected via 2.4G wireless communication to achieve high and low voltage isolation for operational safety. The instruments are generally equipped with a display screen supporting Chinese menus, and some models use a large-size color LCD touchscreen.

The instruments typically operate on AC 220V mains power. To meet the needs of use in environments without power, many models have built-in high-capacity lithium batteries, supporting up to 8 hours of continuous operation. The instruments have built-in large-capacity memory to store test data and support data export via RS232 interface, USB flash drive, or wireless Bluetooth communication. The instruments have built-in step-up devices, providing continuously adjustable high voltage output from 0.5kV to 10kV, and employ PID algorithms to achieve fast, accurate, and stable control of the output voltage.
