Inadequate maintenance during daily use can easily affect measurement accuracy and even shorten the lifespan of a transformer tester. The following aspects should be considered:

 

First, environmental management. The instrument should be placed in a dry, well-ventilated environment, avoiding humidity, high temperatures, or strong magnetic field interference. When not in use for extended periods, it is recommended to cover it with a dust cover to reduce dust entering the internal circuitry.

 

Second, cleaning and maintenance. Regularly wipe the casing and display screen with a clean, soft cloth. Do not use corrosive cleaning agents. Keep wiring terminals and interfaces clean to prevent oxidation or poor contact. If necessary, use specialized cleaning tools for simple cleaning.

 

Third, power supply and wiring checks. Before each use, check the power cord and test leads for damage or aging, and ensure the plugs are secure. Avoid frequent plugging and unplugging during testing to prevent loosening of interfaces.

 

Calibration and testing are also crucial. Perform calibration regularly according to the instruction manual to ensure the accuracy of test data. If abnormal data is found, stop use immediately and have the instrument inspected or sent for repair.

 

Furthermore, operating habits can also affect the equipment's condition. When using the instrument, follow the standard operating procedures to avoid live wiring or exceeding the testing range, and minimize impact on internal components.

 

Finally, regarding storage and transportation, handle the instrument with care during transport to avoid severe vibration. For long-term storage, periodically power on the instrument for a period of time to maintain component stability.

 

Performing these basic maintenance tasks will generally ensure the long-term stable operation of the transformer tester and reduce the probability of malfunctions.
